DIVA Tips - Know Your Body Shape

DIVA Tips gives you valuable advice on how to shop and dress like a true DIVA.

It's important to have a good understanding of your own body shape, and how to dress for it, in order to enhance your best features. I was going to write an article on the way our shapes vary myself, but since Igigi has already put together the most comprehensive guide to body shapes that I've seen for a while - with even a body shape calculator for those who are not sure where they fall - I'm going to just point you straight into that direction.

Igigi divides body shapes into seven different myShape categories. First, go to the calculator to determine what yours is, and then read up on what your best assets are.

You can also shop by your shape at the Igigi store. If you're smart you should try to make the information to go a bit further that though. Study the suggestions and try to look out for the same shapes in clothes when you shop at other stores. Sooner or later it will all become second nature to you, and you'll be able to pick the most flattering outfits for your shape from any rail!

DIVA Tips - Sales-shopping for smart Divas

DIVA Tips gives you valuable advice on how to shop and dress like a true DIVA.

Shop smart
With sales fever at boiling point, I thought I'd share some tips with you on how to shop smart and make the most of your bargain hunting. With so many discounts around, it's easy to lose your head and act like a kid in a candy store, which will inevitably result in you ending up with piles of stuff that will look completely out of place in your wardrobe come next season. Here are some items to look out for in the sales, which will see you through to the Autumn/Winter season.

The colour blue
Blue is the colour to be seen in next season. So try to resist those bright summer colours and go for classy navy blue in clothes, and funky icy blue in accessories, to be right on trend come autumn.

Lace
Lace is big news for autumn. It might look odd now, but you will thank yourself later for grabbing those lace bargains now as you'll be one step ahead of the crowd.

Sexy statement dress
You can't go wrong with a sexy little cocktail dress.

Boho
Stock up on ethnic smocks that you can mix and match with knits when the weather gets colder, they will work well with the 70's inspired look that was back on the runways.

Goth
Bad girl is back in town. Goth and 'dark romance' is big news for next season. So stock up on everything black.

Big rocks
Big gemstones, especially in huge necklaces, is an easy trend to adapt and will cheer you up in the winter months.

Looking sharp
Look out for timeless sharp tailoring, there were a lot of suits on the A/W catwalks.

Military
Military look is also still going strong, so keep an eye out for any items that give out the utilitarian vibe.

Accessories
When it comes to accessories, stacking-up cuffs and bangles is still huge. Shoes are either ridiculously high or completely flat. On the bag front it's snake or croc skin all the way.

Good luck finding those bargains worth investing in! Keep your head cool in order to shop like a DIVA and enjoy the rest of the sales!
